Senior Library Assistant

Start:
March (12 Week Contract)

Our client:


Our client are London's Global University, and are consistently ranked among the top 10 Universities in the world since 2012.


Main purpose of the role:


You will be providing day to day assistant in the areas of library skills training and NHS services as well as support for cross site initiatives.

You will also be expected to assist with the administration of Site Library Services managers meetings includingmeetings related to NHS service development.


Main duties and responsibilities:

Library Skills:_

  • As part of the library skills team you will provide advice and training on a onetoone or group basis as required, on sources available to the University and healthcare staff
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of library skills teaching for academic programmes, including induction tours, timetabled classes and preparing guides and training materials

NHS Services:_

  • Assist with planning and preparing ad hoc and annual communication campaigns
  • Provide troubleshooting support for NHS registrations for undergraduate medical students
  • Maintain and develop web pages providing information about library services for partner NHS Trusts

Customer Services Support:_

  • Assist with organising and participate in cover arrangements across Site Library Services

Biomedical Team Support:_

  • Assist with servicing of meetings including minute taking and scheduling

Ideal person specification:


  • Uptodate relevant experience of library and information work, particularly in an academic, health or medical setting
  • Experience of customerfacing work and delivering a high level of customer service, especially in a library environment
  • Experience of preparing and delivering training, especially library skills training
  • Skills in finding and evaluating information from a variety of sources
  • Excellent written communication skills, able to present information clearly for different audiences
