We are currently looking for a Research Associate to join a Start-up Cancer Biology Biotechnology company based in the Cambridgeshire area.
As the Research Associate you will be responsible for independent research developing first-in-class Cancer Therapeutics.You will be responsible for researching combination drugs to develop new cancer treatments.
You will conduct a range of cellular and molecular assays to assess proof-of-concept and target validation from their novel products, including developing in vitro CRISPR/Cas9 and high through-put screens.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Research Associate will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Maintain human cell-lines through mammalian Cell Culture and differentiation techniques.
- Support routine plasmid cloning, bacterial transformation and plasmid extraction as well as other routine molecular Biology techniques including but not limited to DNA, RNA and Protein extraction, PCR and RT-qPCR.
- Support proof-of-concept and target validation activities by independently designing and execution of biological plans.
- Record all data and analyse results for presentation.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant degree in a Life Sciences discipline ideally focused on Molecular and Cellular Biology. Mammalian cell culturing is required.
- Experience with a range of Molecular Techniques including but not limited to, Vector transfection, DNA / RNA / Protein extraction, DNA Electrophoresis, PCR, RT-qPCR and cloning and bacterial transformation.
- A working knowledge and understanding of genome-edited cells using techniques not limited to Immunohistochemistry, Fluorescent microscopy and flow-cytometry.
