The post holder will be a vital member of the team who will assist in:

  • Transporting members of staff between hospital sites.
  • Working to a timed bus schedule for each pick up point.
  • Keeping accurate records of journeys.
Trust staff will be using the service to attend shifts and meetings on other sites therefore punctuality is imperative.

There is a potential for this role to include transporting members of the public in the future therefore an important aspect to your role would be to show kindness and respect to often worried patients and their relatives, who may include:

  • Older people
  • Individuals who are physically disabled
  • People with mental health problems


During a shift you would keep in contact with the Additional Services Manager who would be on hand to offer advice.


You would spend a lot of time on the road covering a particular geographical area and would be driving a wheelchair accessible 31 seated bus.

You would also wear a uniform which will be provided to you.


The post holder is expected to be punctual and also flexible regarding shift times in order to accommodate the service.

Shuttle Bus Driver - Full Time

45 hours per week, £12.50 an hour

We are recruiting for an experienced bus driver to join our team of Shuttle Bus Drivers.


This post will involve transporting Epsom and St Helier Hospitals staff members between Trust sites in a safe and efficient way.

This includes conveying staff to and from a number of Trust sites. It is important that the post holder is able to adhere to a strict timetable.

The hours for this post are 10:20 - 20:20 with unpaid downtime during changeover periods.

A valid PCV licence is required and held for a minimum of three years with in date CPC training. Any on-going CPC training will be offered.

The start / finish location for this position will be at Chessington World of Adventures. You may be required to attend the service base in Morden on occasion.
