SURVEYOR / ESTIMATOR - DORSET

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, take measurements, and gather relevant data.
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for various construction projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project scope and identify potential risks or issues.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates.
  • Utilize industry software and tools to perform precise quantity surveying and cost analysis.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and project specifications.
  • Conduct thorough research on market trends, materials costs, and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and costeffective estimates.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor quotes and proposals to secure the most favorable pricing and contractual terms.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide accurate cost reports and forecasts.
  • Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

Requirements:


  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with regional construction market and pricing trends.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
