Description

We are looking for two experienced, self-driven ACPs who can work autonomously to support the expansion of the Trust's Older Persons Unit bed base.

One post is to start as soon as possible the other to start at the beginning of September 2023.


The Older Persons Unit is a friendly and welcoming department, with 6 wards for older people, 2 trauma wards, 16 consultants, 5 SpRs, numerous trainees and 14 medical nurse practitioners.

This post will part of the Multi-disciplinary team on Chesleden Ward.

Cheselden Ward is a nurse-led ward for the care of older patients, with a focus on discharge planning and rehabilitation.

Chelesdan wards' medical input is provided by MNP/ ACPs, with named consultant senior support.


The role will require the post holder to provide highly expert clinical guidance and leadership across the OPU services, and to be a role model for safe, effect and high-quality care for our patients.

The post is responsible for providing professional expertise to the senior specialty triumvirate.


The post holder will define current processes, facilitate discussions, advise colleagues on how best practices might be adopted in future processes, document those processes as they are agreed upon, and oversee their delivery.
