media Finance Services provides support services to Associated Newspapers Limited, Daily Mail and General Trust Plc and other smaller DMGT owned companies.
Associated Newspapers is a publisher of national newspapers in the UK - the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday, as well as Metro.
Background to the Shared Service Function
dmg:
media Finance Services is a shared service function based in Leicester.
It was introduced as part of a reorganisation of finance, together with a new Agresso accounting system and our in-house sales ledger and credit management system.
It is continually evolving as work transitions in from the individual business units across the group.
The Shared Service function will consist of approximately 70 people, in the areas of order to cash (accounts receivable and credit control), purchase to pay (accounts payable), record to report (general accounting), payroll, HR Administration and related support services.
The staff are based primarily in Leicester, with a small number of staff, covering specific areas of work, based in London.
Primary role purpose
To provide an efficient and effective administrative support function (12 month FTC) covering the payroll and benefit processes in dmg media, within the payroll admin team.
What are we looking for
A payroll/finance administrator with a resilient, positive, enthusiastic, and methodical mindset with a good sense of humour.
You will be used to working in a busy administrative/payroll/finance function where priorities change daily and processes whilst documented, are flexible to adapt to business needs.
Attention to detail and producing accurate quality work is essential along with excellent communication and teamwork skills.What will you be doing
- Administering benefits in the payroll system
- Recording benefits on central tracker
- Reconciling invoices against credit notes, remittances, direct debits, etc.
- Running reports/collating data regarding benefits administration
- Answering general queries in the Payroll Admin inbox
- Payroll inputting
- Distribution of P45's/P11D's, etc.
- Undertaking any other payroll duties as/when required by the business
Required skills and experience
- An understanding of payroll practices/procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good people skills.
- Highly motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to organise, prioritise and manage tasks accurately to meet demanding deadlines.
- A proactive approach to identifying problems and formulating solutions.
- An enthusiastic and flexible approach.
- Committed to both self and organisational development.
- Ability to work with accuracy and good attention to detail.
- Ability to keep calm and stay focussed under pressure.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desired Experience
- Knowledge and experience of using of Trent and Workday.
- Experience of working in HR shared services.
- Experience of working on multiple payrolls.
