The Opportunity:

Nigel Wright Recruitment has been retained by an established SME manufacturing client in County Durham, to lead the search for a newly created Managing Director position.

The organisation is privately owned and is in the low £millions turnover, has a strongtrack record of delivering profit and has a solid cash position.

The predominant focus is on UK customers and this is a tremendous opportunity for a commercially slanted leader to drive long-term growth in an autonomous leadership role.

Package:

Circa £75K basic
Potential future bonus scheme

Role Profile:

Full business management responsibilities with accountability for sales, manufacturing, logistics, finance, HR, Health & Safety etc.
Leading and developing a small management team, and setting the culture and tone for the manufacturing site as a whole.
Ultimate responsibility for customer relationships, escalations and key account management.
Taking the lead on setting the commercial strategy and targetted business development planning / execution for new customer acquisition.
Accountable for overall company financial performance and upline reporting to shareholders.

Person Specification:

Previous experience of a commercial leadership role within an SME manufacturing business.
A broad understanding of business functions across and organisation (not just limited to commercial, operations, or finance).
Experience of reporting upline to shareholders.
Strong business development and commercial strategy planning skills.
A track record of driving year on year growth.
Commutable to County Durham five days per week.
