The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) is a long-term plan introduced by the Premier League to promote the development of a world leading Academy system.

It aims to deliver an environment that promotes excellence, nurtures talent and systematically converts this talent into professional players capable of playing First Team football at the Club that develops them.

Within the plan professional Clubs are awarded a categorisation for their Academy, depending on their ability to fulfil the criteria outlined above.

Our Academy has been awarded the highest possible status (Category One).


Scouts are required to assist with Scouting and Recruitment providing a systematic coverage of local Football in order to identify realistic recruitment targets for the Academy at Norwich City Football Club.

Successful applicants will be paid an hourly rate which will be systematically reviewed so that high achievers are offered higher remuneration and more games to watch.


Key Tasks / Responsibilities

  • To promote safer working practice and maintain a culture whereby safeguarding is recognised as a shared responsibility
  • Identify and monitor existing targets and potential new players to support the Club recruitment strategy from within London
  • Attend category 1, 2 and 3 fixtures to further enhance information collated on existing targets
  • Act quickly on information received from others to scout potential new players
  • Attend fixtures and tournaments to further enhance information collated on existing targets
  • Carry all necessary identification and other documentation when visiting a fixture or tournament with the intention of scouting a player
  • Act quickly on information received from others to scout potential new players
  • Collate observations made on players at fixtures and tournaments in preparation for formal reports to be written and submitted
  • Assist Head of London Recruitment on request with any information on players identified Feedback and Reporting on Players
  • Upload all match and individual player reports.
  • Liaise with the Recruitment Department to arrange trials for exceptional players
  • Participate in scout meetings and clearly articulate rationale and informed conclusions on players

Essential Qualifications / Experience

  • Knowledge of local football
  • Minimum 1 year Experience or a background in scouting Category 13 football
  • Selfmotivated and committed
  • A strategic planner, organiser and coordinator
  • Confident with the ability to work individually and as part of a successful team
  • A 'people person' with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Full driving licence
