This role entails
- You will work across our seven scripted labels (plus support for _Coronation Street _and _Emmerdale_ as required), which will offer an opportunity to work on the projects of leading drama producers responsible for programmes such as _It's a Sin, Vera, Four Lives, Fortitude, The Bay, A Confession, Happy Valley, Shetland, A Very English Scandal, Industry, The A Word _and _Stay Close_.
- You will be a key member of the BA team working closely with our production management team and production freelancers to provide daytoday BA support on our slate of productions for broadcasters and streamers, in a busy and fastpaced environment.
- You will also support our Heads of BA, Senior BA Managers and other team members assisting on a variety of deals and other matters.
Some key responsibilities
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of development and, in particular, productionrelated agreements. The latter will include location agreements, director, producer and other key crew agreements, studio and facilities agreements and all other ad hoc contracts that arise during the production of a programme.
- Providing production teams with clear and timely advice on clearance and other legal and BA matters, referring queries to other BA team members or colleagues within the wider ITV legal & BA team where appropriate.
- Assisting other members of the team with drafting, including for writer deals and other underlying rights agreements. It is anticipated that you will also have opportunities to directly negotiate writer and other development deals with agents, but your priority will be supporting productions and their agreements.
- Supporting the Heads of BA and other colleagues where necessary on particular transactions.
- Ensuring that our team databases and trackers are kept up to date and that you regularly communicate progress of your matters, and promptly highlight any issues or concerns, to the relevant Head of BA.
- Assisting in keeping template agreements up to date as legislation changes and/or custom and practice evolves.
- To quickly become familiar with ITV policies and processes, including those relating to antibribery, modern slavery, data protection and duty of care. Where required, to assist with any changes to, or implementation of, such policies and processes.
- To develop and maintain a network of relationships across ITV, working with colleagues and stakeholders from across the business (including Creative, Production Management, Finance, Health & Safety, Privacy, Insurance, Procurement and other legal & BA teams) to ensure a 'joined up' approach to the provision of BA services.
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
Minimum role criteria:
- A qualified solicitor or legal executive, or experience in a legal or BA role within the audiovisual industries, ideally television production.
- Experience drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts, with good working knowledge of contract and copyright law and other relevant legislation and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure to production and other deadlines and prioritise work effectively.

The key role criteria are as follows:
- Demonstration of your ability to use initiative, think quickly and be solutions-focused. You will be able to grasp new concepts quickly.
- An effective communicator, able to provide advice clearly and succinctly, both orally and in writing.
- Skilful drafter of contracts with sound understanding of underlying legislation and relevant commercial parameters.
- Some experience of handling contentious matters, while not essential, is desirable.
- Ability to build relationships effectively with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Enthusiasm for BA and an interest in television drama. An understanding of television production will be an advantage.
