The Trust are pleased to offer a comprehensive Customer Service Practitioner (Level 2) Apprenticeship Programme.

This is a structured programme of work and study over 15-18 months (length of programme is dependent upon contracted hours) that consists of the following:


  • An induction programme providing an insight and development into the skills needed to undertake your new role.
  • Relevant mandatory training including Information Governance and Risk Awareness.
  • A role and duties, supported by working alongside experienced staff
  • Regular study sessions, support and guidance to develop into colleagues who share our core values and objectives at the Trust
We are looking for individuals that meet the following skills and qualities required for this role;

  • Have good interpersonal communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Have keyboard/Word processing experience
  • Be confident in the use of Microsoft software
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and own workload
  • Show enthusiasm for working in the health sector.
  • Be punctual, friendly, motivated.
  • Adaptable to the changing environment.
  • Demonstrate commitment to learning
  • Have a professional outlook and positive attitude.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertake general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying, handling incoming and outgoing post, etc.
  • Direct contact with service users and other internal departments i.e. at reception/ by telephone
  • Develop and maintain administrative support systems, including manual and electronic filing systems, ensuring that systems are effective in their use and review regularly.
  • Record and securely store information relating to confidential matters and enquiries
  • Assist to arrange and administer meetings / events, including booking venues, the preparation and distribution of training resources.
  • Through completion of this apprenticeship you will gain comprehensive training in the role of an administrator whilst obtaining valuable work experience; this will underpin your competency in the work place and develop a wide range of transferable customer service skills.
  • To patient files from departments around the Trust
  • To scan patient information electronically from patient paper notes.
  • Commence a timeline of patient care with the support from the management team.
  • Setting up meetings (face to face and Microsoft Teams) and diary management.
  • Maintaining databases on excel.
  • Designing and publishing posters.
  • Progressing actions from action plans across the governance workstreams.
  • Supporting with powerpoint presentations.
  • To maintain electronic files and records.
  • Any other Ad Hoc Duties
