The post-holder will learn the functions of the Apprentice Administration Assistant role within the Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and will complete a Level 3 Business Admin qualification as part of their role.


Developing the skills to provide general office and administrative support service to the Practice Development Team including using a variety of IT systems.

Working towards undertaking general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying, handling incoming and outgoing post, etc


With training and support become familiar with the procurement system and assist with the ordering and receipt of supplies, courses, training, and conferences as appropriate.

Developing effective communication skills in order to communicate with staff and visitors, providing support where required and working to resolve any issues seeking advice and guidance where necessary


Gaining an understanding of how to assist the Team in arranging and administering courses / meetings / conferences / events, including booking venues, preparation and distribution of papers and collation of evaluations where relevant.

With support and guidance, produce accurate letters, minutes, reports and maintain databases etc, as required.

Maintaining and establishing both computerised and manual filing systems, ensuring information can be retrieved easily on request.

The team supports the Trust's retention work streams especially those which have a clinical educational element. We co-ordinate continuing professional development opportunities for non-medical registered professionals and other staff throughout the Trust.


In addition the team provides educational support to clinical staff via different methods including point of care teaching and simulation training exercises and also supports theprocess for professional revalidation and re-registration to staff.
