Using our unrivalled expertise and strong cross-sectoral network, Edinburgh Chamber champions our 800+ members, supporting them to thrive and grow.


We take an active role in collaborating with businesses and policymakers to help create the economic climate that will ensure the City's and the region's prosperity.

We are apolitical as an organisation, but regularly engage with government at all levels on behalf of our members to ensure their views are heard.

Chamber members have access to more than 40 benefits to help them succeed in business.

This includes access to over 100 networking events each year, support with raising brand awareness in the city, information and insights on key business issues, advocacy and policy support and opportunities to upskill employees through our training programme.


The role


We are keen to continue increasing visibility of our work in the city and beyond, creating more awareness of our value, and effectively telling the 'Chamber story'.

We're looking for a creative, focused and driven individual to join our team in the role of Marketing and Communications Executive.


This role is fast paced and demanding, but exciting, offering the opportunity to lead on the delivery of our communications strategy across all departments.


Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the Chamber's communications strategy in line with our objectives and KPIs.
  • Manage our schedule to ensure careful coordination of our communications.
  • Meet monthly with each Chamber department to understand their needs and develop campaigns to support their objectives.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of the Chamber's Business Comment magazine including gathering and writing content, proof reading and design input.
  • Design and distribute our weekly newsletters, thinking innovatively about how we can improve engagement.
  • Update the Chamber website regularly to ensure it is up to date and relevant.
  • Deliver marketing support and advice to Edinburgh Chamber members.
  • Attend key Chamber events to photograph, provide social media support and complete writeups where appropriate.

Additional Duties

  • Attend and make an active contribution to regular onetoone and team meetings.
  • Attend training courses as required
  • Any other duties as requested by the Head of Partnership and Engagement.

Person Specification


This is a varied role and requires experience in a range of marketing disciplines ranging from design to content writing and campaign delivery.

We are looking for a motivated, creative and organised individual to take on this exciting role, bringing new ideas to our organisation.


Ideally, you will have a passion for thinking outside the box, be a self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative and plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.

Experience

  • Experience in using social media to deliver targeted campaigns and reporting on results (E)
  • Experience in creating paid digital ads to cater to a specific objective (social media/Google Ads) (E)
  • Experience in video production and editing (basic) (D)
  • Experience in using WordPress (or other/similar Content Management Systems) (E)
  • Experience of designing infographics and collateral (Canva) (E)
  • Experience of content writing and creation (E)
  • Experience in photography (basic, using smartphone) (D)
  • Experience in data analytics and report writing (D)
  • Experience in building landing pages for digital campaigns (D)

Core office hours are Mon - Thu 9am - 5pm and Fri 9am - 3.45pm alt
