Applications are invited for the post of (10PA) Consultant in Histopathology (Gastrointestinal & Hepatopancreatobiliary) at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Main duties of the job

In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification.


You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Histopathology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


The primary duties of this post will be reporting gastrointestinal specimens, medical and lesional liver biopsies, pancreatic resections and liver transplant graft specimens.

The successful appointee will be expected to contribute to the Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) on-call rota. The department is staffed by a team of over 50 specialist Histopathologists.

The successful appointees may also be able to participate in the departmental postmortem rota.


The department is fully digitised and successful applicants will be expected to move towards digital reporting as part of the national drive to digitise Histopathology services.
