Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with ASC? Perhaps you have experience of working with people with Autism in a different workplace setting? Are you trained in the use of Makaton and PECs? If you're a skilled and passionate Autism specialist, Team Educate would love to hear from youOne of our partner schools in the Erdington area seeks several committed, knowledgeable Teaching Assistants who are passionate about providing outstanding ASC support. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people and you would contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to individuals with special educational needs, namely ASC, in order to promote academic and social development.
- Use your skillset to communicate with learners and support them in their studies to foster engagement in the classroom, utilising wellrehearsed behaviour management strategies.
- Assist in the implementation of IEPs and EHCPs.
- Collaborate with specialist teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for the children.
Experience:
- Previous experience of working with children or young adults with ASC.
- Knowledge of Special Education is advantageous. Relevant training and qualifications are desirable.
- Training in relevant fields such as Makaton, PECs, Team Teach or CALM would be beneficial to the role.
- Patience, empathy, and compassion when working with children.
