We are looking for a Production Team Leader

The Production Team Leader will be responsible for leading and supervising production shift assets and resources in accordance with BCW BMS requirements to achieve production and business unit objectives.


Role Objective

  • Shift leadership of business unit production provisions including resource management, productivity and performance to production, quality and engineering requirements.
  • Meet production OEE & SQCDIP targets and support continual improvement initiatives.
  • Support the business in achieving all production KPIs including HSE, Quality, Delivery and Resources
  • Lead shift resources of the business unit to achieve OEE KPI target of 80% OEE Efficiency.
  • Management of production shift resource management to achieve delivery, quality, and absence KPIs
  • Manage Production Asset TPM level I & Coolant Provisions

Specific Responsibilities

General Task Management

  • Ensure effective production planning, with adequate manning levels to achieve internal and customer schedule requirements.
  • Lead the production shift in meeting HSE safe working and quality standards and targets defined.
  • Supervision of production performance management tools and reporting of deviations and escalations including OEE, SQCDIP Level I and SICs.
  • Liaise and coordinate with support function to escalate and resolve production downtime and technical issues.
  • Supervision of production shift compliance to production, quality, engineering and maintenance requirements.
  • Manage and lead the production shift resource management processes including performance appraisals, objective target departmental and individual, planned and unplanned absences as well as resourcing levels to meet business budget and performance targets.
  • Provide production support to productivity issues to implement corrective actions to production assets and hardware

Problem Solving

  • Support the business unit support functions and shift leaders when investigating issues and completing continual improvement activities.
  • Provide support and leadership the production delivery and quality issues with robust problemsolving techniques and resourcing.

Self-Management

  • Time effective management for shift attendance and planned overtime.
  • Selfcompliance to Business Management System requirements and standard processes.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure business unit targets and objectives are achieved.

  • Understanding of CNC manufacturing methods and requirements
  • Understanding of 2D Engineering Drawings
  • Understanding of performance management tools including OEE
  • Ability to use problem solving techniques to establish root cause and corrective actions.
  • Understanding of customer expectations
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment and react quickly to problems and deviations.
  • Understanding of HSE & Quality Principles

Qualifications and Experience Levels:


  • Band GCSE Level A-E / NVQ Level 3 / BTEC National Diploma Level
  • Minimum 3 Years Production / Manufacturing Experience in Mechanical Engineering
The role is a rotating shifts position

37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday 6am to 2pm/2pm to 10pm


Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£13.38-£18.92 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
