Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of a client to recruit a
Senior Operator

  • Job Objective_
The Senior Operator role is to assist the Supervisor to oversee the workflow at our facilities. The role is a flexible one. The Senior Operator is also responsible for training and serving as the first point of contact for operators.

  • Key Accountabilities_
  • To manufacture products in a safe and efficient way
  • To run lines to allow an hourly quality check
  • Pass off any lines
  • Support the operators with quality advice and any on hold procedures
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels, including communication of site status updates as required.
  • Responsibility of opening and closing the site
  • To identify the right quality standards and to check production against these
  • To operate production lines and make minor adjustments if required
  • To take part in improvement activities
  • To advise the logistics department when materials are required or when finished product is available
  • To assist in training new operators and support existing operators
  • Essential Requirements_
  • To understand all safety rules and promote a safe environment to the correct standard
  • To understand all quality rules and promote a quality environment to the correct standard
  • To ensure and escalate any changes to SOPs and promote use of them via training
  • Ability to understand TPM and improvement processes, and promote a culture of improvement
  • To liaise with visitors as necessary
  • To understand the technical processes listed in the skills matrix
  • To be experienced in working in a metal forming environment
  • To give reasonable cover in operational areas when required.
  • Working Hours_
Standard hours Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm with flexibility, 37.5 hours per week.
Flexible to work overtime when required, willing to stay and resolve a problem / breakdown in production when required.

  • Salary £31,200 (£16ph plus overtime)
