The main purpose of this role is the operation, review and development of key actuarial calculations and processes critical to the financial reporting for SJP plc and/or key subsidiaries.

What you will be doing:

- the actuarial inputs to financial reporting.
- the actuarial inputs to regulatory submissions.
- the financial projections to support business planning, capital management and risk assessment.
- the development, maintenance, documentation and validation of actuarial systems.
- the analysis of the company's experience (e.g. lapses and expenses)

Drafting key reports communicating the results of SJP plc and entity financial reporting exercises.
Ensuring proper operation, implementation, maintenance and development of controls to safeguard the accuracy of actuarial outputs produced.
Supervising the work of actuarial assistants/technicians as required to meet the responsibilities above.
Providing actuarial advice and input for crossfunctional or finance projects.
Knowledge of principles underlying actuarial cashflow modelling, knowledge of SQL and other programming languages (e.g. VBA, R, Python) an advantage.
Strong computing skills, particularly Excel, but skills in other relevant computing packages an advantage and exceptional analytical and numerical skills.
Ability to communicate core technical matters clearly and concisely in an appropriate format.
Strong relationship building skills with key stakeholders and others.
