Seven Social Care is working with Nottinghamshire County Council to recruit a Social Work Assistant for their child protection service in Mansfield.

Initial 3 month contract which will likely extend if you work well.

I have had people work in similar positions since August 2021 so it won't just be 12 weeks


Job Purpose:


A member of a countywide team of staff engaged in the organisation and delivery of services to protect and promote the welfare of children in need of social services in Nottinghamshire.


These services include the full range of social work tasks including assessment and care management, child protection investigations, Youth Court services, services to children in need and children looked after.


Duties:

To contribute to or maintain such records as are required by policy and good

practice.

Prepare reports and deal with other documentation as necessary and appropriate.

Liaise with staff within and outside the Department in order to gather information and assist care planning processes.

To participate in case discussions, reviews and other relevant team activities.

Contribute as appropriate to practice and service developments.

Attend departmental and inter-agency meetings as required.

Maintain an up to date knowledge and awareness of policies and procedures.

Take advantage of opportunities provided for further training.


Applicant Requirements:


Qualifications:

Desired NVQ Level 3 in social/health care but not essential


Experience:
This is appropriate for staff with little or no experience of work in community care or social work.

Staff will work under supervision and will not be expected to initiate requests for services independently or undertake work without the appropriate support and guidance from a qualified social worker.

Under the direction of the Team Manager, specific duties include:
A range of practical tasks geared to assist other team members in carrying out their work.

Accompanying social workers on home visits, transporting/delivering/collecting as required.

Providing routine information to service users/members of the public.

Preliminary investigations of clients' needs and advice/information to assist.

Maintaining a limited client caseload as directed and supervised by the Team Manager.


Compliance:
Up to date Passport and DBS.


Travel:
Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.


Hours:37 hours p/w.
