Relief Fermentation Operator and Storekeeper
To operate and control plant equipment to produce high quality product in a safe and compliant manner.


_ This is a site-based role at Irvine_
**_

In this role you will_**- Carry out all process operations as described in Standard Operating Procedures to ensure product is produced in a safe and compliant manner.


  • Carry out housekeeping activities to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practice standards are adhered to.
  • Carry out first fix maintenance in accordance with the Multi-Skilling agreement.
  • Accurately record and complete all batch paperwork to provide documented evidence of batch makeup and plant conditions.
  • Carry out sampling of production and associated streams and ensure these samples are properly labelled and logged into the computer system as covered in the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carry out all necessary MERPS transactions related to the job role/production area.
  • Carry out all necessary movements of raw materials and final product.
  • Where necessary and trained use lifting equipment in conjunction with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carry out tanker offloads/uplifts and oversee offloads/uplifts into storage tanks.
  • Participate in carrying out work placed risk assessments to highlight hazards associated with the job and improve health and safety.
  • Investigate deviations to identify root cause of problems and resolve issues or escalate the issue to operations management for resolution.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in a safe and compliant manner and report any incidents or dangerous occurrences immediately to the shift leader.
  • Be responsible for shutting the plant down in the event of an emergency as described in the Standard Operating Procedures and carry out required tasks as described in the local Fire and Evacuation Procedure.
  • Carry out all plant activities to keep the plant online as described in the Standard Operating Procedures e.g Filter Changes.
  • Complete facetoface handovers at the beginning and end of every shift in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe and factual handover of plant and equipment
  • Involvement in peer to peer training as required.
  • Receive and check incoming materials and products, ensuring all materials are clearly and securely identified, completing all documentation to record completion
  • Store all accepted material in specified storage locations assigned and recorded on M-ERP as the validated stock control system
  • Ensure all materials and products are handled and transported within the site to retain identity and prevent contaminations.
  • Prepare all trace salt dispensing as per production schedule.
  • Carry out material movement between storage and manufacturing areas to ensure smooth flow of material and no interruptions to production schedules, including daily Kanban.
  • Manage stock levels within the stores, liaising with the Inbound / Outbound Coordinator to maintain a safe working stock level on site.
  • Ensure financial regulatory requirements are met by completing timely inventory cycle counts internally and with external auditors.
