LET'S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work - a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.

Our purpose is taking care of life's essentials, but we're also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

The role of the County Reactive Lead is crucial to both our field-based operations and the continued relations we have with our contract partners.

In this bespoke role it will be your job to ensure that there is the effective operation of our sewerage network, while making sure we have full compliance with all customers, regulatory and company standards.

We will look for you to be on the front foot and focusing on the needs of the customer by ensuring our partners deliver a right first-time solution and we have impeccable performance and serviceability of our sewerage network.

You will work in partnership with contractors to ensure operational problems are dealt with effectively in compliance with the contract and within a safe and cost-effective environment.

Do you have experience of groundworks and sewer mechanisms and the ability to build fruitful and long-lasting partnerships?

Well, if you do, read on.

LET'S TELL YOU MORE

Working across Severn Trent Water's Shropshire area it will be your task to lead and promote a safe working environment to achieve Goal Zero health and safety whilst ensuring all quality standards are met across the operation.

You will lead on validating work completed and authorise our contractors 'follow on' work requests in line with the approval limits stipulated.

We work with a NEC framework of contracts so you will work closely with contact partners to agree nature and extent of complex repairs and other exceptional work items.

We will be looking for you to manage and lead on certain incident events such as high-profile sewer collapses or burst rising mains.

You will liaise with the appropriate contract partners and catchment leads where applicable to ensure the incident is resolved. Also manage and process any insurance claims.

Relationships in the role are key, so we will want you to be proactively managing and enhancing both the internal and external relationship with all key parties including contractors, Severn Trent teams, our Operational Service Centre, Asset delivery and other supporting departments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Of course, it's important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity, and a caring attitude in equal weight.

We want people who show up and roll their sleeves up. Restless spirits who are ready to be part of something bigger, who care, who really care... because when you really care, you'll go above and beyond. When you really care you don't just talk about it, you do more.

It would be great if you have knowledge and understanding of sewerage operations and the repair and maintenance of gravity sewerage systems.

Understanding of sewerage flooding mechanisms and how they may be addressed would be great also. If you were to have a NRSWA or IOSH qualification that would be great but not essential.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities.

We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.

And when it comes to inclusion, we're making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups - LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity; who help us do just that.

We do more, because we care.
