The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to the government's Green Paper for Young People's Mental Health.

Within the teams there is a specific focus on developing more access to appropriate help and improving the general culture of emotional support within primary and secondary schools.

Working alongside community partners the Mental Health Support Teams are integrated with community CAMHS and educational settings and are a valued part of the whole CAMH service.

We are pleased to set up the Wave 9 MHST within Hounslow. This is a training role within theGreen Paper for Transforming children and young people's mental healthprogramme.

The post is permanent conditional on successful completion of the course in this training year funded by Higher Education England.


We are seeking to recruit trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) for Wave 9 Hounslow Mental Health Support Team (MHST).

The post is permanent conditional on successful completion of training in a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self
- management interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties. As this is a Postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. Applicants must be prepared to work towards their studies outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work) and must be willing to travel into London to attend their lectures.
