RMS are recruiting for a long standing, renowned Tier 1 automotive supplier. They are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join the team in Peterlee.This role is day shift.
Responsibilities includes
- Ensure uninterrupted compressed air supply to maintain production operations.
- Ensure adequate maintenance on heat & ventilation and boiler systems.
- Ensure compliance on cooling towers legionella control, testing and documentation.
- Provide emergency support to plant services, also liaise with other departments regarding maintenance and repair work in line with business and operations requirements.
- Ensure the factory fabric and its surroundings are maintained and improved, being wind and watertight.
- Manage and coordinate the repairs of forklift truck fleet, PPT's, speed doors, dock levellers, Metal roller doors.
- Maintain, weekly test and arrange service of fire and sprinkler systems.
- Appoint and manage contractors to ensure department responsibilities of plant services are maintained. Control of budgets and ordering documentation records.
- PSSR 2000 regs, Pressure System Safety Regulations, arrange plant safety valve service and replacement schedule, coordinate with insurance inspections.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to comply with their requirements.
- Work as part of a team to deliver department business requirements.
- Committed to maintaining the health, safety, and environmental standards on site for themselves and others around them.
- Coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, maintaining all documentation and TPM records
- BTEC in an appropriate discipline. Mechanical or Electrical, NEBOSH desirable
- Recognised apprenticeship or proven experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Technical problemsolving skills, PC literate with good planning skills.
- Able to manage multiple jobs and contractors to achieve requirements.
- Competent knowledge of plant and equipment.
- Ability to coordinate and schedule shutdown work.
- Good communication and hand skills, able to work on their own or part of a team.
- 3 years' experience within engineering (TPM/Repair/Maintenance).
