An opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager in the Poole Adults Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)

The Poole Adult CMHT provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment and support to adults (18+) in the Poole area who have a serious and enduring functional or organic mental illness.

The team are based at Alderney Hospital in Poole and Social Work staff cover the Poole Local Authority area.

The team work in a recovery focused way, with an emphasis on social inclusion.

The Poole Adult CMHT is an integrated service with Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust (DHC), providing health and social care input to approximately 800 people in Poole.


The role will be responsible for the delivery of an effective and efficient community mental health service for adults in line with legislative requirements and the policies and procedures of the DHC and the Adults Social Services (BCP Council).

The role will form part of the management structure of the Adult CMHT and will be directly responsible for the social care staff within the team, jointly managing the service and sharing responsibility with the DHC Team Leader.


Care management will also form part of the role, undertaking assessments in line with Care Act and the commissioning of appropriate support services.

The role will be crucial in demand management and effective use of resources within mental health services.
