Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our project in the Southwest where we are a delivery partner on a key infrastructure project.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in one of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK today, where you will be responsible for management of the complete construction process at site level.
Key Responsibilities
Client
- Presents proposals to the Client and Contract Board for improvements to the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness operations
- Overall responsibility for service delivery, ensuring that the Client's objectives as defined in the business plan are delivered
- Responsible to produce the service plan and programme in line with client expectations of level of service
- Management of client expectations and requirements within the contract
Commercial
- Understands commercial drivers, takes accountability along with the Commercial Manager for cost management ensuring that delivery is in line with budget
- Overall responsibility for the profit and loss accounts and cash flow
- Able to drive efficiency and continual productivity improvements
- Proactively manage risk and opportunities
Business Performance/Improvements
- Overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with governance, process and the management of the business through formal risk management process
- Understands and champions the delivery of the contract
- Develops relationships with the client's representatives and deployment and integration of supply chain
- Overall responsibility for meeting the performance requirements of the Contract and driving lean and continuous improvement programmes
Leadership
- Champions Sustainability, Safety, Health and Environment and ensures that standards are set, maintained, and continually challenged for improvement in line with expectations
- Ability to lead an integrated Joint Venture and manage the various interfaces
- Establishes clear lines of communications throughout the integrated team, defining roles and responsibilities to ensure the efficient use of resources and the delivery of costeffective solutions
- Champions the development of a Lean culture and use of 'Lean' techniques within the business
People/Culture
- Promotes a culture of innovation, best practice, and continuous improvement
- Leads the team to deliver the cultural shift to enable safety delivery and profitability and promotes a positive culture
- Ensures succession plans are in place for key roles and people risks are understood and managed
- An exemplary role model in demonstrating the required behaviours throughout the Joint Venture
About you
- Relevant experience in construction, preferably in a highly regulated environment
- Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
- Experience of coordinating design work and supervising subcontracts
- Understanding of Engineering Principles
- Experience of NEC Form of Contract and Subcontract
- Holds relevant CSCS card
Qualifications/Experience
- Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in a Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering or qualified by experience
- 3 to 5 years work experience within a similar role with a main contractor in built environment
- SMSTS / IOSH
- Member of relevant Professional Institute
- Training in Health, Safety and Environmental management
