**Stock Control and Merchandising Manager - Soft Flooring - Purfleet, Essex (Hybrid working

  • 3 days in office)**This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and customer obsessed Stock Manager/Retail Merchandiser to join our Stock Control Team here at Carpetright. You'll be managing a small team of stock planners and will take the lead on managing the stockpurchasing and allocation for all Soft Flooring products inline with company objectives, working in close collaboration with your buying colleagues.

About The Role:


  • Forecasting range/sku level sales to be used for the purposes of stock management
  • Management of stock purchasing from Soft Flooring suppliers in line with the sales and product forecasts
  • Forecast category sales and margin for the budget and subsequent reforecasting processes
  • Manage and develop your team of Stock Planners
  • Deputise for the Head of Stock Control when required
  • Work closely with Soft Flooring Buying Team to ensure excellent availability for promotional activity
  • Communication with suppliers to maximise availability and ensure efficient stock flows

About You:


  • Computer literate and comprehensively skilled in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V/HLOOKUP, SUMIF(S), COUNTIF(S), INDEX+MATCH) with good understanding of other Microsoft Office software
  • Solid merchandising/stock control management experience and ownership for a category/product area
  • Previous experience in a Stock Management Control or Merchandiser role ideally within an omnichannel retail environment
  • Experience managing a small team within stock control/allocation/product merchandising
