The Opportunity

The key role of the Assistant Management Accountant is to support the Finance team with delivery of the month-end management accounts.

The Assistant Management Accountant will have a defined set of responsibilities across both the profit & loss account andthe balance sheet and be expected to produce and present the monthly results to the senior Finance team.

The key measures of success will be delivery of results on time, to a high standard with a clear and concise communication.

Overall duties will include

Assist with the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual reporting for Poundland Limited
Provide support to the Finance team in the preparation of month end schedules for Property Costs and Capex Reporting
Gain an understanding of UK/ROI VAT and Corporation Tax returns to assist the Team in achieving challenging external submission deadlines
Custodian of the Fixed Assets Register
Registering additions/disposals/transfers against four asset books within Oracle
Responsible for closing the Fixed Asset registers as part of the month end process and understanding the drivers behind depreciation forecast/budget variances
The production of Office of National Statistics submissions and other external surveys
Identify and drive financial efficiency improvement opportunities
Work with the Finance Manager to develop linkages across all other departments to improve communication and support across the business

Personal Profile

We are looking to speak with career-driven, ambitious Assistant Management Accountants who have strong analytical skills and previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment.

You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to buildstrong relationships with other finance team members and stakeholders.

Hybrid working available (min 2 days per week in the office)
