Description

The Scottish Bowel Screening Programme are looking for Screening Officers to be part of the busy National Bowel Screening Helpline and undertake administrative duties within the Bowel Screening Centre in Kings Cross.


We are looking for a person who enjoys working as part of a team as well as the ability to work without direct supervision and a willingness to learn.

It is essential that you enjoy working with the public, have good interpersonal skills and a friendly manner. Good verbal and written communication skills are an important part of this post.

**You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Hours of work are: 37 hours (Monday - Friday)

22.5 hours (Working over three days - can be discussed at interview)

Helpline to be covered 8am-5pm (rotational)

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.

This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.

However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
