We are looking for a motivated, proactive, organised individual to join our team.

This unique opportunity will allow you to work closely with the AHP Practice Education Leads to increase placement capacity and influence the quality of the learning environment for AHP pre-registration students, apprentices and those wishing to return to practice.

In collaboration with stakeholders including Professional Leads, General and Service Managers, a range of Universities and Health Education England, you will support students and Practice Educators to ensure the AHP workforce pipeline is active and secure.

The role also requires you to work closely with nursing colleagues to deliver CPFT's multi-professional Preceptorship Programme.

This is an exciting and essential role to ensure our recently qualified staff are supported in their transition as autonomous practitioners.

In this unique role you will be required to work across all directorates and AHP professions.

The Clinical Placement and Education role is designed to influence the quality of the clinical learning environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for Practice Educators, pre-registration students, preceptee's, apprentices, returners to practice and existing staff.


The role will enhance the capacity of the Trust to deliver quality practice learning experience and contribute to the future of the registered workforce.

The Practice Educator for Allied Health Professions (AHPs) will support the Practice Education Leads for AHP's to deliver high quality services in a range of work streams including:

  • AHP pre-registration clinical placements and practice education
  • Multiprofessional Preceptorship Programme
  • AHP apprenticeship routes
  • AHP return to practice
The post holder will work flexibly across all internal and external sites as required.

  • Work collaboratively with the Workforce, Education and Development Team and assist the Practice Education Leads for Allied Health Professions in the creation of clinical areas that encourage practice development, audit practice, and disseminate information on developments.
  • Facilitate the creation of positive learning environments where staff development is encouraged and supported.
  • To assist facilitation of the welcome, induction, education and continuing professional development for all levels of AHP's and associated staff within the scope of the role.
  • Assist the Practice Education Leads for AHP's to work with partner Higher Education Institutes (HEI's) across the Integrated Care System (ICS), undertaking the role in practice development to support service improvement and quality of care across the Trust.
  • To be a highly visible clinical role model, working alongside staff in clinical practice, both supporting the learners, their educators, and supervisors.
  • Contribute to an environment in which effective practice-based learning is fostered, implemented, evaluated, and shared.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of the work within the Workforce, Education and Development Team.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft systems, use and creation of spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to travel across the Trust to all bases where healthcare is delivered.
  • Assist the Practice Education Leads for AHP's to further develop effective working relationships with managers, educators/education leads and others to ensure effective communication and support of supervisors and learners in practice.
