Description
The role primarily involves

  • Bookkeeping on VT, Sage, xero, excel or any other bookkeeping software introduced into the practice.
  • Completion and submission of VAT returns.
  • Assisting with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities.
  • Assisting with the completion and submission of self assessment Tax Returns for sole traders and partnerships including the computation of capital allowances and tax liabilities.
  • Assisting with the completion and submission of corporation Tax Returns including the computation of capital allowances and tax liabilities.
  • Communicating with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Complying with practice procedures as well as dealing with administrative duties.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years proven experience within a public practice accountancy firm or within a fulltime bookkeeping role covering all aspects of bookkeeping through to Trial Balance stage.
  • Excellent communication skills and a polite and professional attitude to clients and colleagues.

  • Organised with the ability to work independently.
  • Possess meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Friendly and approachable with a professional attitude.

Salary, hours and benefits

  • Salary dependent on qualification and experience
  • Flexible working available, hybrid working if desired
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 28 days holiday a year (including Bank Holidays).
  • Autoenrolment pension scheme.
  • Study package towards AAT/ACCA qualification (if desired).
