The Marketing Brand Planning Assistant (MBPA) will primarily support the BAU Marketing Planning Manager on the Project Management of all BAU campaigns and Mini Events.


Alongside this, the MBPA will also support the wider planning team on exciting business critical campaigns and projects such as Seasonal Campaigns, Partnerships and Brand Campaigns.

Time spent between each project will be indicative of stages of the critical path and workload planning.


The role of the MBPA will focus hugely on supporting the coordination of all key stakeholders to ensure we create meaningful and dynamic content that is rooted in customer insight, commercial priorities and balanced back against the wider business objectives.

The role will work cross functionally right through from the beginning stages with commercial colleagues, to our editorial and studio teams, channel owners and sometimes external agencies.


The MBPA will largely support the MBPM in owning the Critical Path of BAU Commercial Campaigns, ensuring key timings are made visible and risk management is continually evaluated.

This will include collating key information for channel owners and working closely with commercial to establish seasonal line lists, hero lines and key messages / top line initiatives from their strategies.


Alongside this, the MBPA will support channel owners in the population of their content plans ensuring they feedback to the commercial teams on as a Marketing Department, where we are supporting key initiatives ahead of each quarter as well as taking the time to reflect on the last and make iterative changes on lessons we have learnt.


The MBPA must have excellent organisation, communication and multi-tasking skills, a creative way of thinking, brand understanding and be comfortable and robust whilst supporting the Planning Manager.

This is a hybrid working opportunity.


What you'll be doing:


  • Conduct seasonal competitor shopping explorations from both a digital and physical POV, seeking to establish key stories / trends / themes from our peers and where we can take lessons as we move from season to season
  • Support the Senior Brand Planning Manager in budgets each quarter, raising Purchase Orders
  • Take an active role in our Marketing Squad meetings, supporting the MBPM in collating notes, key actions and deadlines that are clearly communicated and circulated post each meeting
  • Seek out insight from commercial strategies looking at the topline initiatives and rationale from each commercial category per season to feed into Marketing Seasonal Toolkits and help teams prioritise communications
  • Work alongside the Senior Insight and Insight Manager to become expertly informed on customer trends and sentiment, and feed this insight into campaign briefs that supports the editorial team in the development of seasonal stories
  • Use our Customer Mindsets to help the Planning Team phase content plans based on speaking to our customers at the right time, with the right messages
  • Assist the MBPM in the upkeep of the Master Critical Paths
  • Taking the above and clearly communicating deadlines against each step of the critical path to the relevant channel owners
  • Responsibility alongside the MBPM, for timely execution of campaigns in the form of regular meetings to discuss upcoming campaigns/mini events/product launches/sale etc. This will require advanced scheduling to get high attendance as well as a clear agenda for the purpose of the meeting
  • Collation of all campaign line lists from the Buying teams so the Marketing team can build stories and understand hero products to push with a USP
  • Support on the organisation and planning of wider marketing planning meetings
  • Be the main point of contact between the crosschannel team and commercial teams to champion product stories as well as being a phantom of knowledge for all key campaign information
