Locums Co-ordinator/Planner


The Pharmacy Group is a rapidly expanding independent family business looking to recruit for a new position of Locum Co-ordinator and Planner to support our pharmacies which are at the heart of the local communities we serve.


Our team of pharmacists are highly skilled health care professionals but don't necessarily work all of the days their pharmacies are open.

This means we need to bring in qualified pharmacist locums to cover the times when they are away.

As the business grows we need a dedicated locums co-ordinator who can manage our bank of locums from booking them right through to managing their invoices when they have completed their shifts.


The role is a part-time, permanent position (likely to be Monday to Friday mornings) and ideal for someone who has experience working in a busy office who is friendly, warm and has great communication skills.

There may be some requirement to take out of hours calls in cases of emergency.


The job description below is not exhaustive and there may be other duties required of you commensurate with the position.


  • Manage locum bookings for Pharmacists, Dispensers and other staff as required
  • Keep all rotas up to date and have the ability to plan staff and locum rotas
  • Demonstrate strong communication, negotiating and relationship
- building skills

  • Work closely and proactively with Office Manager, area managers & Pharmacies
  • Keep pharmacies up to date with bookings
  • Liase with the accounts department in relation to Locum invoices
  • Make improvements to increase efficiency and save money
  • Have the initiative to act quickly if required and the ability to make things happen
  • Flexible attitude, willing to do whatever is required accepting additional duties as required
  • Be willing to work out of hours on emergencies if required
  • Implement & maintain protocols, operating procedures and systems
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Have strong organisational skills and close attention to detail
