  • We are currently recruiting for a temporary HR Officer for a Oxford University Department, starting asap on a fulltime basis for 12 weeks

Duties:


  • Manage the administration of all matters relating to the day to day implementation of the recruitment and selection process.
  • Liaise with the Senior HR Officer and PI/line managers concerning staffing/recruitment requirements
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to check project details to ensure funding is available and correct procedures are followed prior to the post being advertised
  • Work together with the Senior HR Officer and PI/line managers to prepare job descriptions and job advertisements in line with University policies and procedures.
  • Submit Staff Requests for new and existing posts
  • Proof read job advertisements and job descriptions for accuracy.
  • Manage the HRIS recruitment database with the assistance of the HR Assistant for all recruitment, ensuring it is kept uptodate on a regular basis.
  • Oversee the HR Assistant in the shortlisting process and organising recruitment schedules
  • Advise and sit on interview panels as required

2. Pre-employment

  • Prepare and issue formal offer letters and employment contracts in accordance with University policies and procedures.
  • Collate and despatch departmental induction information with support from the HR Assistants
  • Ensure eligibility of employment is confirmed, including authorisation from Occupational Health and Right to Work documentation.
  • Person specification
  • Experience of effective staff supervision
  • Significant experience of personnel administration at a supervisory/management level, preferably within the education sector
  • CIPD level 3 HR
  • High level of numeracy and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to deal with conflicting deadlines within a busy environment
  • Computer literate including MS Office and ideally HRIS core database or similar.
  • Team player who works well within a team, but also able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy
  • An interest in a career in personnel management
