PERMANENT ROLE - TRANSPORT SUPERVISOR - MONDAY TO FRIDAY - COMPETITIVE SALARY

We are recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our Distribution Hub Based in Bermondsey (SE1)

Competitive Salary + Performance based Bonus
Monday to Friday - 8 Hour shifts between 05:00 - 17:00 for operational needs
No bank holiday working required

As a Transport supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Hubs Logistic environment & team, this is made up of drivers covering long wheel base sprinter vans & 7.5t trucks.


We will be looking for you to take ownership of the day to day running of the distribution, completing pre & de briefs, reviewing activity and amending routes around changes/issues, ensuring that all drivers are complying with Roads Transport Compliance and Health & Safety.


Our vans use TVG to ensure that our drivers are driving in safe, compliant and a proper manner and you will be responsible to monitor and manage anyone that is not adhering to the policy, downloading and reviewing Tachograph logs and picking up infringements & escalating where necessary.


Ideally you would have 1 + years' experience in a Transport role and have the understanding of driver hours, compliance and route planning with the confidence to lead & direct the team directly.


Transport Supervisor - Responsibilities:

To motivate, lead and develop staff to achieve their objectives, setting objectives, managing performance and addressing any shortfalls
Manage compliance with all relevant procedures, such as freight transport legislation, commercial vehicle operating procedures, audit, security, environmental and health and safety policies
Manage the efficient route planning of the delivery vehicles and ensure that stock is moved efficiently and safely
To ensure that warehouse and transport procedures and paperwork are compliant
Manage relationships with internal customers and third parties to determine their requirements and achieve our service level agreements
Control and monitor costs, such as driver overtime, absence, transport carrier costs
Produce reports, information and feedback as required


Transport Supervisor - Experience & Attributes:1 + Years experience within a Transport Role, e.g. supervisor, team lead, lead driver, transport administrator
Experience of using vehicle planning routing software
Excellent people and communication skills
