Customs Coordinator - London, United Kingdom - ETC
Description
ETC, an international leader in events lighting technology, is currently seeking someone to assist with Customs Coordination on the Logistics Team in our London Office.
Representative Responsibilities:
Compliance
- Coordinates the shipping process for international shipments into & out of ETC Ltd
- Communicates with ETC departments and forwarding agents to ensure a smooth and efficient international shipping process
- Effectively communicates delays, backorders, and expected availability
- Provides information to customers as needed and assists in coordinating direct shipment deliveries
- Contacts carriers to schedule pick up for international orders and provides carrier pickup scheduling information to ensure freight readiness
- Works closely with Shipping, communicating upcoming freight volumes and special requirements
- Prepares and provides legally compliant export documentation for international shipments and coordinates all associated paperwork through to filing
- Coordinate the preparation of commercial invoices
- Coordinates the preparation of proforma invoices when required
- Coordinates Letter of Credit process ensuring shipping requirements are met
- Maintains required filing of copies of international shipping documentation
- Maintains the assignment of commodity codes and countries of origins for UK exports/imports
- Remains current with changing international shipping regulations
- Coordinates, implements, and maintains trade compliance regulations, policies, procedures, compliance programs, training, licensing and import/export audit programs
- Creates and maintains procedures necessary to remain in compliance with UK Customs legal requirements
- Coordinates the implementation of duty drawback and other cost saving programs
- Assists with daily ordering request reports.
- Assists with communicates with the planning team at ETC Inc.
- Communicates with vendors and suppliers as needed
- Supports and assists warehouse team when necessary
- Assists with cycle counts
- Administers the UK swag store
- Other tasks as assigned
- Completes special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 or more years experience working in a Logistics environment
- Completed formal Import & Export Manager training through an accredited program
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop relationships and collaborate across intercompany departments and groups
- Ability to multitask
- Strong research, analytical and organizational skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to travel if necessary
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Experience with SAP
- Knowledge & interest in continuing education in import/export law
- This position assumes greater independence in assignments as well as decision making
- At this level, the employee, having developed expertise in the line of work resolves most of the conflicts that arise and determines the approach to be taken.
- Completed work is reviewed from an overall standpoint in terms of feasibility, compatibility with other work, or effectiveness in meeting requirements or expected results.
