KEY
ACCOUNTABILITIES:


Health and safety

  • To work in a safe manner adhering to laid down health and safety procedures.
  • To report all accidents and dangerous occurrences or near misses to management.
  • When driving will operate legally in compliance with road user legislation and company best practice.
  • Safety check forklift on a daily basis
  • Using safe methods ensure that no one is put at risk of accident or injury whilst working (where relevant use all safety equipment provided). Report to management any preventative safety requirements
  • Report any health & safety issues to management on a daily basis
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in like with pharmaceutical standards
  • Ensure sufficient waste bins are accessible for day, night and weekend shifts on an ongoing basis
  • On a daily basis clear full bins from the floor. Load/unload waste bins as necessary
  • Clear/load any unwanted pallets on a daily basis preventing any build up of pallets, thus preventing any potential fire hazards

General

  • Understand and correct interpretation of VWT
  • Work closely with warehouse team to effectively plan a structured day
  • Report any delivery/transportation requirements or issues to the management team
  • Working closely with the Production Manager, review working practices on an ongoing basis, with the intention of adopting the best methods possible, in order to maintain process efficiency

Goods in

  • Ensure there is one warehouse operative available on the floor at all times in order to accept any goods during the allocated working hours
  • Unloading, positioning and checking of incoming raw materials to any raised purchase orders (reconcile goods as required)
  • Where applicable and assisted by a PMR operative, locate raw material pallets into correct areas
  • Ensure all goods received are placed into the 'Goods in' holding areas and relevant staff informed of receipt of goods
  • Ensure all received 'Delivery Notes' are passed onto correct recipients/departments
  • Load/unload chemicals, plate bins as and when necessary
  • Unload raw material from racking/storage areas upon request

Despatch

  • On a daily basis following discussions with the shift Supervisor on duty, prepare job status information and report to the Production Manager prior to the morning meeting
  • Communicate delivery requirements and responsibilities to all team members effectively
  • Collating of customers finished orders and making ready for despatch
  • Using the MIS system input relevant delivery data in order to retrieve a computer printed despatch note for each job
  • Check and ensure all pallets, boxes & quantity stated on goods reconciles with he delivery information (despatch notes/listings)
  • On a daily basis ensure the working area is organised/cleared appropriately for day, night and weekend shift workings
  • In order to minimise space issues on the despatch floor, liaise with the Production Manager/customer service department to deliver orders early so as to ensure there are no space/storage constraints

Stocking
Practices

  • Separate and palletise any goods that are 'Stock In' where applicable send all stock jobs to Swadlincote for storage on an ongoing/daily basis
  • For stock jobs stored on site ensure a rack location is allocated and stored/placed into location as appropriate
  • From the 'Call Off' list provided by the customer services department ensure all delivery requirements are met on a daily basis
  • Consult with the customer services/quality departments as necessary with respect to any stocking queries

QUALIFICATONS:
