Reporting to: Chair of Haringey Liberal Democrats, working to targets and objectives set, and reviewed regularly, by the local party Campaigns Committee and Local Party Executive Committee

Salary: £27,000-£30,000 pa (pro-rata for contracted days) depending upon experience; initially £10,800 to £12,000 for a two day week.


Hours:
Part-time, 2 days per week


Working pattern:

Two fixed working days per week (to be agreed), however some flexibility to be afforded as workload demands, including the occasional evening/weekend meeting/training session and you will be expected to work reasonable additional hours in line with the needs of any election campaigns (covered via TOIL).

Haringey Lib Dem Offices in Wood Green (some remote working possible depending on current work schedule)

Summary:


We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person who can help Haringey Liberal Democrats build a winning local campaign team up to 2026 local elections and increase the number of councillors we have in Haringey, in the role of Local Party Organiser.

This is currently a Part-time post 2 days (15 hours) per week.

  • Draft and layout effective and powerful campaign literature (in various forms/formats)
  • Lead the recruitment process of volunteers alongside the Campaigns Chair and Membership Secretary in Haringey to ensure we have a motivated and welltrained volunteer network of deliverers, canvassers and clerical helpers
  • Plan and coordinate member and volunteer training, action days and constituency events.
  • Ensure that the party's database of voters and supporters is properly maintained and updated, and used effectively to inform strategy.
  • Coordinate and support membership recruitment and engagement strategy.
  • Liaise with Local Party executive officers and ward teams to coordinate campaigns, messaging, events and activities.
  • Coordinate and support publicity for events and activities
  • Undertake such other duties as the team may require further effective communication, campaigning and organisation.

  • Familiarity with current issues within UK politics and committed to the aims, values and principles of the Liberal Democrats and Haringey Liberal Democrats.
  • Ability to work with Liberal Democrat staff from the London Region, English Party, other local parties and HQ.
  • Ability to be in Haringey and travel around the area either by own or public transport.

Desirable

  • Prior experience with campaigning or recruiting, managing and motivating volunteers.
  • Prior experience with desktop publishing tools, notably Affinity Publisher or strong artworking skills.
  • Prior experience or ability to quickly get up to speed and work with our systems e.g. Connect, Mailchimp, Lighthouse and Fleet and Microsoft Office suite notably Word, and Excel, and also our equipment used for printing and preparing literature for distribution
  • Prior experience of working in a campaign/elections office or team
  • Understanding of GDPR, data protection and other laws and regulations relevant to political campaigning.
