This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.


The School of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking to recruit a committed, adaptable individual to join our experienced team of academic staff as a Lecturer in Computer Science.


You must be sufficiently proficient in major programming languages and have a good practical understanding of software development principles and practice and be able to adapt to teaching from level 3 to level 7.


Most of the teaching duties for the post will be in the area of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, though this may vary.


Duties will include teaching face-to-face and online, setting assessments, marking and giving feedback, supervising final-year and post-graduate projects, and acting as a personal tutor to provide pastoral support to students.

As part of the role, you will be expected to support students in competitions, work-based learning, and other opportunities for enterprise.


Staff are also encouraged to develop their external research profile and the appointee to this post will be expected to contribute to one or more of the School's multidisciplinary Research Groups.
