Research:

Conduct an independent research project under the supervision of Professor Simon Kenny at the University of Liverpool, and collaborate with Professor Paolo De Coppi and Dr Conor McCann at GOS-ICH.

This research will focus on building on existing work being undertaken by both groups in the field of regenerative medicine therapies.


This will include:

attendance at pull-through operations for Hirschsprungs disease, collection and preparation of tissue samples; training in established laboratory techniques including cell culture, immunostaining, RT-PCR, proliferation assays and cell stimulation; and the potential to develop existing techniques in single cell RNA sequencing.

Training and Development:

Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of Regenerative Medicine and Hirschsprung's Disease, attend relevant conferences, workshops, and educational sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.

Training will be delivered by clinicians in both centres both virtually and in person.

In addition, training courses offered by the BRC, the University of Liverpool, Alder Hey and ICH-GOSH will be available to the successful applicant.
