Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the West Yorkshire Liaison and Diversion service whilst working for South West Yorkshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trust (SWYPFT).

The post holder will help improve outcomes for vulnerable people involved in the criminal justice system.

Working with people who may have complex mental health issues but also other vulnerabilities such as learning disabilities, substance misuse, housing or employment.

The aim of the post is to divert people away from crime and into health, social care or other support organisations.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, screening people within police custody suites, identifying and offering support to those with complex needs that might be having a negative impact on their health and wellbeing.

Also, working closely with other mental health nurses within West Yorkshire courts and the probation officers to provide mental health court reports which help inform sentencing, so the most appropriate options are considered.
