Description

The Department of Urology is a dynamic and progressive unit providing care in all the sub-specialities, including urological laparoscopy, interventional stone disease, female and reconstructive urology, and medical and surgical andrology.

Radical pelvic surgery for cancer is provided by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

The service is supported by a nurse consultant and a cancer nurse specialist in addition to both UK and overseas trainees.

The facilities are located in a bespoke integrated unit which caters for in-patients, out-patients and chemotherapy.


To attend daily ward rounds, clinics and theatre To support with other Medics and further develop the out-patient service and the in-patient service.

Responsible for the Management of Junior Medical Staff, carrying out Teaching, Examination and Accreditation duties as required, and contributing to Postgraduate and continuing Medical Education activity locally, regionally and nationally as appropriate.

To provide, with the other Medics in the specialty, cover for annual, study and professional leave when the rota allows under the direction of the Clinical Lead.

The post holder will be expected and encouraged to carry out research and clinical audit activities, as an inherent part of normal clinical duties including attendance at MDT meetings.

On-call/Full Shift duties Full time job with no current out of hours commitments.
