We have a full time secondment available in the Outpatient Booking team to cover maternity leave.


We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who has an eye for detail and who will put the patient and customer care at the forefront of the service provided.


You must have:


  • A good general education and have GCSE English C or above or equivalent
  • Good computer skills and the ability to navigate our various computer systems
  • Good customer care skills and experience of working in an office, preferably with NHS experience
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Knowledge of RTT
  • Knowledge of outpatient waiting time
  • Work closely with the Business Managers in ensuring services are running efficiently

Main duties are as follows:


  • To be responsible for making, changing and cancelling appointments.
  • Inviting patients to call to make appointments
  • Ensuring all last minute cancellation of appointment slots are filled
  • Deal with requests for appointments from wards and inter consultant referrals
  • Regularly maintain mandatory training
  • Provide support to the team where required

The main duties of the role is to receive referrals and book patients appointments appropriately.

Promoting a positive image and providing high level of customer care.

Cancelling and re-arrange appointments on Careflow and ensuring all patients details are accurate.

Changing appointments in the E-referrals system

Making follow up appointments from the partial booking lists and liaising with other teams when necessary to ensure the appointments are booked in line with the access and booking policy
