Description

With a presence in 9 countries and over 10,000 employees, Saica Group manufacture sustainable recycled paper, corrugated cardboard and flexible packaging as well as providing solutions for waste management and the recovery of waste.

Our Flex division produces a range of flexible plastic films, with our site in Wigan manufacturing products for major food retailers and suppliers.


We are currently looking for a Production Service Operator in the Pre-press Department to join our team, to support with the plate mounting cleaning and maintenance.


As a Production Service Operator, your key duties will include:

  • Demount plates
  • Clean plates after production runs/before mounting
  • Store, identify and inspect printing plates and print sleeves for subsequent use as required. Ensure the Process Manager or Prepress Team Leader are notified immediately of anything missing, damaged or worn.
  • Operate Plate washer
  • Cleaning of the plate cleaner as and when required in line with suppliers advised requirements and report any issues to the Engineering department and keep the cleaning area clean and tidy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment, ensuring that all spills are logged and cleaned immediately
  • Operate in line with site health and safety, environmental and quality standards including BRC, ISO & A2 environmental.
  • Assist with production operations as and when required including the maintenance and upkeep of relevant equipment
