JOB SUMMARY


The Risk Management unit in Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance Department is responsible for the regular assessment and management of every risk faced by the Bank.

The job holder / incumbent will provide key support in the management of prudential risk (focusing capital, market, liquidity, and model risks) within the Bank.


This role will focus on providing 2LOD oversight and challenge of key risks: strategic, prudential, treasury, market, liquidity, and model risk management.

The role is to ensure the business has a comprehensive and accurate view of its risks by providing guidance, support and assurance to management that the business and support functions are identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting its risks adequately and accurately.


KEY RESPONSBILITIES

  • Assist in the oversight of the Enterprise Risk Management and Control Framework (ERMF), support on its development and implementation, assist in the execution of risk quantification, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
  • Maintain oversight of capital, liquidity, and financial risk appetite, including market, credit, and liquidity risks.
  • Contribute to the production of ICAAP, ILAAP, RRP, and Pillar 3 Disclosures report. This includes ensuring accuracy and timeliness in regulatory reporting, and developing risk content for various disclosures.
  • Perform the capital adequacy assessment and report the Eligible Capital, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Leverage ratio to the Executive Management on a regular periodic basis.
  • Monitor and report IRRBB through stress testing of Interest Rate Exposure (IRE), Delta Economic Value of Equity (EVE) and Net Interest Income (NII).
  • Review and perform sense check on daily reports, including FX P/L report and exposure report.
  • Produce LCR, NSFR, Liquidity Stress Test reports for monitoring and reporting on a regular periodic basis.
  • Review capital and liquidity stress testing scenarios and parameters on a periodic basis and perform capital and liquidity stress testing on a regular periodic basis.
  • Maintain and update the Bank's Model inventory on a regular basis.
  • Review and validate all Models including EUC tools used by the Bank as and when required.
  • Support Treasury by setting and monitoring Money Market Interbank Placement limits and Large Exposure limits.
  • Produce the ALMAC risk report.
  • Produce the MRC (Management Risk Committee) risk report and write the minutes of the MRC meeting.
  • Produce the BRCC (Board Risk and Compliance Committee) risk report and pack.
  • Ensuring timely and appropriate escalation of issues to relevant senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and manage engagement with the Internal Auditors, External Auditors, Group Office, Bank's Board, and Regulators on prudential matters, effectively addressing feedback.
  • Provide coaching and support, being a point of escalation, and provide general support.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION / PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE

  • A degreequalified banker with minimum 5 years of experience within a UK regulated financial institution.
  • Good understanding of current regulatory issues; a good understanding of UK and European regulations
  • Extensive holistic experience in prudential risk management and model risk management.
  • Have a good understanding of Bank's business operation and culture including but not limited to a solid understanding of Treasury, Retail Banking, Trade Finance, and Mortgages, together with the associated processes and risks.
  • Experience in performing stress testing using purpose built models and EUC tools.
  • Be skilled in preparing high quality presentations for meetings, workshops and trainings.
  • Be comfortable challenging and influencing a range of stakeholders.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and have an ability to lead conversations to ensure understanding.
  • Strong understanding in model validation.
  • Have strong planning and organising skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent technical ability and in depth knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation.

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong project management, problem solving, time management, numeric, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Act with integrity, due skill, care and diligence.
  • Pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly.
  • Observe proper standards of market conduct.
