Description

I am currently working with an engineering business based in Cannock who are a sub-contract sheet metal working company.

Due to an internal promotion, they now have a requirement for a CNC Setter/Operator to join their existing team on the shop floor.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the CNC Setter/Operator will be using Mazak VTC 820/30 CNC Miller, however, if you have knowledge or experience of other milling machines cross-training can be given

Duties will include:

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
Select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, and workholding devices.
Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into the machine.
Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain product specifications.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machine performance or product quality
A knowledge or understanding of CNC millers, preferably Mazak
The ability to read engineering drawings.
Gained previous experience in a similar role.
Good communication skills.
Basic inspection skills to ensure components are produced to quality standards.
Proficiency in tooling selection, assembly, and maintenance
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting machine issues

In return the CNC Setter/Operators can expect to receive a competitive salary, depending on experience, 33 days flexible holiday entitlement and free onsite parking.

The working hours for this role are on a straight day shift, working 8-4 or 9-5 with 30 minutes break for lunch.
