As our
Accounts Team Leader you will manage the workload ensuring that Service Level Agreements (SLA's) are exceeded, and support the efficient running of the Finance department


Key responsibilities

  • Manage the workloads to ensure that the SLA's are exceeded for both processing and service desk, escalate any concerns relating to the breach of SLA's to the Senior Finance Assistant.
  • Support the management of the Finance function to ensure staff are motivated, trained and developed so an efficient service is provided to suppliers, members, and internal departments.
  • Act as a point of escalation for any team queries from suppliers, members, or colleagues.
  • Set and review performance objectives for direct reports ensuring any additional support, training needs, or performance management plans are put into place where required.
  • Recruitment, training, and probation reviews of new team members.
  • Manage any absence for direct reports in line with company policies.
  • Provide workload cover for the Senior Finance Assistant in their absence.
  • Allocate cash received from members on a daily basis and maintain a working document to record payments received.
  • Monitor overdue member payments and ensure credit control procedures are followed.
  • Review the debtor and creditor reports on a weekly basis and action balances owing from members and suppliers where required. Attend fortnightly review meetings with Senior Finance Assistant.
  • Understand and oversee the supplier and member onboarding and termination process.
  • Understand and manage the weekly preclose process ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely fashion by agreed deadlines.
  • Work alongside the Senior Finance Assistant to prepare weekly payment runs.
  • Continuously review procedures, processes, and internal controls to ensure they are sufficient, relevant, and adhered to. Document ways of working policies and process notes to aid cross department training and sharing of knowledge.
  • Provide management information reports and analysis as required.
  • Other adhoc duties as required by the Company, across the wider Finance Team.

What we're looking for in our Accounts Team Leader:

  • AAT part qualified or equivalent desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team with good interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in a Finance team leader role or similar.
  • Team player with a positive "can do" approach.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritise work, multitask and exceed agreed deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, well organised, proactive, and selfmotivated.
  • Strong computer skills including a good knowledge of MS Office packages.
