  • As the MS Coordinator, you will be the primary link between our MS service and patients, offering guidance on the use of our MS PKB platform where patients can monitor lab results, journal their symptoms, manage medications, and communicate with healthcare providers

Your role includes:

  • Engaging with MS patients and coordinating live demo events of our platform.
  • Offering technical support and troubleshooting assistance for MS PKB and other platforms like NHS App.
  • Screening messages from patients and directing them to the appropriate clinical or admin teams.
  • Ensuring that our MS Infoflex database remains uptodate with the latest clinical information.
  • Sending patientreported outcomes prior to clinic appointments to prepare patients.
  • Participating in MS MDT and actioning outcomes like booking patient appointments, tracking results, and consolidating correspondence from other services.
  • Assisting in organising #BeewellwithMS podcast guest speakers, preparing for interviews, and even editing podcasts and videos.
  • Developing diseasemodifying treatment and management pathways as part of the team.
  • Your enthusiasm, adaptability, and willingness to learn will be invaluable as you navigate our rapidly changing NHS environment and commit to new innovative projects led by Dr. Straukiene, nationally and internationally.


We offer a vibrant work environment at Torbay Hospital where you will work with our dedicated MS Team consisting of a consultant, a specialist nurse, and medical secretary.

You will also have the chance to engage with therapists, a practice manager, and a team leader.

Communication and working relationships

  • To work closely with all grades of clinical and administrative staff, along with other employees within the Trust
  • Liaise with our local Infoflex developers, CIMS (system provider) to ensure smooth processing of the database
  • Support the clinical and administrative team working towards systems and processes which allow full realisation of the tracking benefits of the database
  • Exchange information with patients, relatives and staff on a variety of department matters and procedures
  • Convey information sympathetically to anxious patients and relatives.

Planning and organisation

  • Provide training for people with MS and carers to do PROMs (patient reported outcome measures), MS Questionnaires, monitor PIFA (patient initiated follow ups) and book patients into clinics
  • Able to receive, handle, analyse and resolve information queries promptly Direct unresolved queries to appropriate team member
  • Able to prioritise workload when frequently interrupted
  • Editing of the video and podcasts
  • Organise online events and podcast, video interviews
  • Be part of the team when developing pathways for new medicine in MS or new way of working and helping to run MS 1x1, MDT or group clinics
  • Helping to organise disease modifying treatment and investigation new pathways
  • Making regular contact with MS service and innovation selfmanagement developers, users and founders (Connect plus app, MS PKB, #BeewellwihMS podcast)
  • Being able to recruit new users to use self
- management platforms

  • Close communication with other regional and national MS coordinators, sharing best practice, learning new ways of working and developing pathways and helping each other to promote the self management for people with MS
