Professional supervision, leadership and management of the social work and social care practitioner workforce across a defined area.

Local lead practitioner in an area of specialism i.e. Care Act, Sensory, Continuing Health Care.

An opportunity has become available in the East Staffs Adult Social Care Team for a Practice Lead. We need a resilient and dynamic individual to join the experienced and enthusiastic team here in East staffs.

The work is varied and challenging, working with a diverse population in a large town and rural locality providing a breadth of experience and challenges.

There is an emphasis on professional development and promotion of excellent practice and this is an ideal opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a supportive and friendly environment.


The successful applicant will be working closely with the leadership team and will be supported to develop a skill set which will include the management of performance, budgets and team members.

You will be expected to be an experienced practitioner and have some experience of managing operational teams with in-depth knowledge of safeguarding and complex case management and will enjoy supporting and working with the team members to promote excellent practice.

As part of this role you will be expected to take responsibility for the review team and the management of review targets as well as being part of developing and implementing new ways of working.

This is a permanent, full-time vacancy working with the Initial Response Team.

The base will be at Edwin House and you will be given full support from the management team to develop and consolidate your existing skills and experience.


On appointment, the post holder will be auto-enrolled in the SWLA and aligned to the appropriate British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework.

The relevant SWLA 'stage' (i.e.

stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker) or 3 (Advanced Social Worker) will also be agreed taking all prior Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant experience into consideration.

The post holder will be required to take responsibility for their own Continuous Professional Development.
