Description

This role is to actively work as part of a team to provide our customers with a knowledgeable, friendly and dependable service whilst optimising branch sales and profit.

Covering all areas of the branch where needed including administration,sales counter, showroom, warehouse and yard (where applicable).


General/Administration:

  • Support all colleagues in working as one team to ensure the branch operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that company policies are followed at all times.
  • Act as an advocate for the Plumbase brand.
  • Liaise with suppliers where necessary.
  • Actively identify own training needs.
  • Actively safeguard against theft of company goods or property by being security conscious at all times.
  • Complete administration duties as assigned.
  • Prepared to fully support the branch at the yearly stocktake.
  • Willing to be flexible in duties undertaken.
  • Perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required.
  • Able to handle the heavy lifting requirements of the role.
Sales/Trade Counter

  • Build rapport with customers through excellent customer service, understanding their requirements and ensuring that the correct products are supplied; as a result, securing the most profitable quotes and ongoing business.
  • Use product knowledge to identify sales opportunities, offering advice and solutions to customers, therefore maximising profitable sales.
  • Process orders and payments in a timely manner.
  • Always look for opportunities to enhance the sales and customer experience through continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and well merchandised counter area in line with company standards and ensuring a tidy working environment at all times; both at the front and back of the branch in line with health and safety guidelines.
Warehouse/Yard

  • To provide an efficient, timely and dependable delivery service.
  • Be responsible for ensuring orders are correctly loaded onto the delivery vehicle in line with health and safety procedures; and proper documentation is completed prior to departure in order for the goods to be tracked.
  • Receive and check off deliveries to the branch, highlighting any anomalies and ensuring correct, secure and timely storage of all deliveries in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is kept tidy at all times, that stock is clearly identifiable and that low stock levels are highlighted to the branch management.
  • Ensure that the forklift/van/lorry is used, driven and maintained in an appropriate and courteous manner in line with legislation, health and safety guidelines and company policy.
  • Report any vehicle defects immediately to the Management Team.
  • Experience of working in a sales and/or customer service environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and able to build rapport.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, resilient attitude with a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
  • Able to deal with constantly changing priorities.
  • Able to work on own initiative, with a "can do" positive outlook even when under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • To be tidy and organised with an eye for detail.
  • Confident interacting in person and over the phone.
  • A positive can do attitude and able to selfmotivate.
  • Experience of working in a Merchants.
  • Forklift Licence preferred but not essential.

Salary:
From £23,500.00 per year
