Description
Have you ever wished you could make a difference early in a child or young person's life to enable them to thrive and grow?

An opportunity has arisen to join an expanding and dynamic multidisciplinary mental health team within Specialist Child & Adolescent

Our S-CAMHS Primary Mental Health teams combine two key functions: firstly, that of providing psychologically informed consultation, training and support to education professionals in schools as part of the roll out of the Schools in-Reach programme; and secondly, providing assessments and interventions to children and adolescents with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

In the direct work with children, young people and families, the post-holder will screen referrals into the service, assess mental health needs, provide advice and information about other sources of support and provide brief interventions to prevent mental health difficulties starting or getting worse.

These are carried out as part of the Welsh Government Mental Health Measures 2010.

Our teams also seek to build confidence in schools when managing the mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties in children and young people.

This will comprise the post-holder providing regular delivery of advice and consultation, training, and wellbeing sessions for school staff, being responsive to their requests for help and support as and when required.

The post-holders will be expected to work flexibly as part of a team to ensure excellent delivery of service provision, including working weekends where required to ensure accessibility and continuity of service delivery.

Excellent opportunities will be available for training and professional development and the post holder will receive managerial and clinical supervision.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post: English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
