Role Purpose:


South Yorkshire Police is creating a new team of Disclosure Officers to action the growing number of requests we have under the freedom of information act.

This is an exciting opportunity for an efficient administrator with an inquisitive nature and an eye for detail within data.

  • Interrogate, collate, research, and evaluate information from all Force systems to identify relevant information for consideration of disclosure under the DPA 2018 & FOI 2000.
  • Team working and communicating across levels of the force to support accurate information gathering and advising managers and key stakeholders of risk.
  • Processing and handling of all force freedom of information requests and for Subject Access requests

Fixed:

This is a traditional arrangement, applicable when the work is mostly required to be undertaken at a fixed single place of work (on police premises) for most of the time.

The work can only or is more effectively delivered from a police premises or other agreed organisational/partner premises.

Field:

This applies to roles that do have a base, however, due to the nature of their duties is required to travel to other locations.

Due to the nature of these roles, they cannot accommodate flexible working from home on a permanent basis.

Hybrid:

Applicable when the work can be undertaken at any location, whether that be a SYP building or from home.
